Study Day: Beekeeping Updates

il 19 april 2025 dalle ore 08:30 alle ore 16:00

On Saturday 1st March, at the suggestive Rocca dei Papi in Montefiascone, the refresher meeting in Beekeeping took place, aimed at veterinarians and professionals in the sector.

What is this

The participation and interest expressed by the numerous participants was great, and they were able to appreciate the reports of the various experts from the most relevant realities of beekeeping, including international ones. In fact, professionals from IZSLT, ASL Viterbo, Apituscia, CREA Api, “Miele in Cooperativa” and Dalan Animal Health spoke.

The setting up of specific “traps” for bee predators in the classroom aroused curiosity and interest, with questions and requests for information regarding their use.

At the end of the event, the students were thus able to acquire all the most important updates regarding:

the best practices for fighting bee predators, including through networking activities
the regulatory obligations of beekeeping companies.
development of the first vaccine against American foulbrood

The initiative also represented the opportunity to present the “FAO Guidelines on Good Practices and correct use of the drug”.
