On June 6, at the conclusion of the 38th round of Proficiency Tests organized by the US ERA (Environmental and Process Water Standards, Colorado, USA), the National Reference Center for Radioactivity Research of the IZSPB received the prestigious "Laboratory of Excellence" award, having achieved 100% of the useful results during the MRAD 2023 Proficiency Test, demonstrating - as stated in the motivations - a "superior quality and competence" in the determination of alpha, beta and gamma emitting radioelements (including Cesium, Strontium, Uranium and Plutonium).
A doubly important result, as it was awarded for both agri-food matrices and for soils and environmental matrices. Furthermore, all the methods used are accredited and routinely used in the analyses carried out by the Centre, to guarantee that the results produced are robust and reliable". The Management and all the staff thank the team led by Dr. Valeria Nardelli and underline their pride for this magnificent result which confirms the great quality of all the employees of the Experimental Zooprophylactic Institute of Puglia and Basilicata.
